How do you engage travellers who have paid, but can’t travel yet? You give them a lounge.

During Covid Contiki faced a hemorrhaging of travellers who had booked but couldn’t travel due to restrictions. In order to drive engagement, loyalty and reward those who stayed committed to Contiki I came up with the idea for a Travel Lounge. A facebook group and community where we could engage travellers with additional experiences, discounts on activities, provide regular updates and build excitement to travel again. We created a space for travellers to begin to build communities with their own Contiki trips (something that usually only happens at the start of your Contiki).

This resulted in a program of pre-trip engagement with 100s of groups and communities built through Facebook Messenger (the most universally used app), and helped retain 1000s of existing bookings.
